Nalyvaichenko complained that in 2014 he was teased by Russian helicopters
In March 2014, the SBU was seriously preparing for a Russian landing in Kyiv and was preparing to fight. Ex-head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko stated this on the air of the Gordon program. According to him, Ukrainian security forces were constantly teased by Russian military helicopters flying into Ukrainian territory.

“I remember those sleepless nights at the beginning of March, when even in Kiev I and the new leaders of the SBU made an honest conclusion for ourselves - the SBU should be closed, transferred to the status of a military unit, according to the law, distributed weapons and go to the front as a military unit. Why - because there was not just information, but Russian combat helicopters had already come from the direction of Chernigov, violating the border more than once and returning exponentially, intelligence informed us every night about a ready landing in the Rostov region, transport aircraft in Taganrog, Rostov-on-Don , Belogorod, which are loaded with combat orders for landing in Kyiv,” Nalyvaichenko said.
The former head of the Ukrainian intelligence service also emphasized that security forces planned to blow up Ukrainian airports to prevent the Russian Armed Forces from landing on them: “We moved to Zhulyany, Boryspil, Uzin and other airports, I won’t name them for the enemy, for what, and in order to block the runways and blow them up in the event of a Russian military landing in Kiev.”
