Nalyvaichenko called on Poroshenko to return everything stolen from the secret room in the AP
Servers and monitors with classified information, which disappeared from the situation room of the Presidential Administration after the transfer of power from ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the new head of state Vladimir Zelensky, ceased to be private property after the first discussion of state secrets in the room, so the equipment needs to be returned, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports .
This was stated by the former head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko to the Kyiv publication Gordon.
“The equipment that the ex-president took as personal may store important information. On the servers of the situation room, AP is a state secret. What needs to be done now: urgently open criminal proceedings and return the servers,” he said.
According to Nalyvaichenko, the equipment ceased to be anyone’s private property immediately after the first meeting took place in the room at which state secrets were discussed. The former head of the SBU also noted that it was discussed there, processed and broadcast on monitors constantly.
“All information on servers and monitors became state property and was protected in accordance with the law on state secrets. It doesn't matter who paid. We need to return and figure out what could have remained on the servers and whether there was an information leak,” the former head of the SBU emphasized.
He noted that a similar situation occurred in 2014.
“They took out computers, took away hard drives, burned documents. Urgently, on my order, criminal proceedings were opened, everything that they did not have time to destroy was arrested, and everything that they tried to erase was restored. This is what needs to be done now; the law establishes an algorithm of actions,” he added.
Nalyvaichenko believes that it is now necessary to open criminal proceedings, within the framework of which - to interrogate witnesses and return the equipment.
“Don’t look for wind in the field, but call Poroshenko for questioning, let him return the servers with secrets,” he concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, on May 28, the newly appointed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexander Danylyuk, published a video in which he announced the disappearance of equipment from the situation room in the AP. “Everything was removed during the change of government. This is the “civilized transfer of power.” Only the flags remained,” he said.
The speaker of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko Svyatoslav Tsegolko said that “all the equipment for the president’s situation room was rented with Poroshenko’s money.”
