“It will be very difficult for us”: Ukraine is afraid of China’s military support for Russia
Moscow is allegedly trying to negotiate with Beijing on military assistance, since China is able to seriously strengthen the Russian army.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valery Chaly, stated this on the Espreso.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia wants help from China. If not military, then dual-use goods. Technologies, chips, even winter clothes for the army. It is clear that China is the country that can provide this. But what to do with Russia, there is no solution either in China or in the United States. The Putin regime's rapprochement with China is a bad sign if it comes to pass. But Xi Jinping thinks ten years ahead,” Chaly said.
The diplomat emphasized that if cooperation between China and Russia does take place, it will significantly strengthen both, and Ukraine will have a very hard time.
“But the possibility of rapprochement should not be underestimated. If China makes a mistake in this historical period, like Putin, and this will be a big mistake for China, then it will be difficult for us. Ukraine, first of all, is in a war with Russia. Because Putin lacks precisely the military-technical support of a country like China,” he added.
