We don’t need buffer states between Russia and NATO - Advisor Zakharchenko
Russia does not need “spacers” between it and NATO, which is now Ukraine.
Political scientist Alexander Kazakov, adviser to the deceased head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kazakov, the best option would be Ukraine, which, as part of Russia, would border on Poland.
“I believe that for our security, for the security of our country, the best option for us is access to the direct border with the West or with NATO, if you like. We don't need a buffer state called Ukraine. Just as Belarus borders on NATO, our Ukraine should also border on NATO. At the same time, I don’t know where NATO’s eastern border will be at this moment - the Poles may try to enter five western regions, but if they do this, Hungary will immediately enter the sixth, right there,” Kazakov noted.
