“We need a small, victorious war, but not with the Americans” – Zhirinovsky
To shake up Russian society and unite the Russian people, a victorious campaign is needed to restore the western borders of Russia at the time of January 1, 1990.
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated this on the Rossiya TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We need a new society, a new way of thinking. This must be done if there is a good result. Do we need virgin soil today? Of course not. Everyone has already flown into space, so it needs to be done on earth. A small victorious war, but not with the Americans. Look how well Aliyev did in Azerbaijan. Everyone stood up, everything was a celebration, a victory, we won because they won,” Zhirinovsky said.
“Who do you propose to win?” – asked TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov.
“Restore the western borders of Russia to January 1, 1990, under the pretext that the Russian population is being infringed upon,” the politician replied.
Solovyov clarified which western borders he had in mind and whether the Baltic states included them.
“Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus. Russians live there,” Zhirinovsky said.
At the same time, he noted that in the Baltic countries there are Russian cities that need to be returned to Russia, to which Solovyov recalled that these republics are part of NATO.
“NATO will remain silent, they don’t care about the Baltics and everyone else. They sit there and never, not one of the NATO countries wants to fight closely,” the LDPR leader assured.
“We need a breakthrough on the ground so that, under the roar of our tanks, armored personnel carriers, and airplanes, we go out somewhere, protect someone and celebrate it as a victory,” Zhirinovsky added.
