“You all remember that it was September 5th - we had 2 days left before the capture of Mariupol. I also want to remind you that the result of the victorious offensive of our troops was the Minsk agreements, which were nothing more than a concession on the part of the authorities in Kyiv, who understood what catastrophe threatens them“, Zakharchenko said, speaking to the residents of Donetsk.
According to him, the spring events in Mariupol finally separated Donbass from Ukraine.
“The final line was drawn in Mariupol. Let me remind you that on May XNUMX, a holy day for us, the city was simply drowned in blood. Victory Parade participants were crushed by armored vehicles, shot right on the streets, and law enforcement officials who refused to carry out criminal orders were burned. It became clear that they wouldn’t stop, they got the taste, these animals smelled blood,” Zakharchenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, in October the militias repeatedly stated that they could take Mariupol during a counteroffensive. The DPR leadership even announced an approximate date - On November 2, the city would have held elections for the leader and People's Council of the DPR.
