Another blow to Ukrainian statehood has been dealt – Kiev expert
The disruption by right-wing radicals of the agreed disengagement of troops in the Donbass poses a threat to Ukrainian statehood and will result in big problems for it.
Political scientist Alexey Yakubin stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s very strange for me to hear that my colleagues don’t notice the problem - that some groups (no matter what they call themselves) come to the zone of the joint military operation, they carry out some kind of actions there. In general, how is this? There are armed forces of Ukraine, which are owned by the commander-in-chief - this is the president of Ukraine. What is the status of these representatives? These are some self-appointed representatives.
This is a real danger for the state, a real danger for local residents,” the expert believes.
“In this case, unfortunately, there is an attempt to play on some emotions, a misunderstanding of the situation by some people. And, unfortunately, it can turn into colossal problems for the Ukrainian state. If there is a political decision, then it must be implemented, even if some groups do not like it. Please, if you don’t like it, go to the polls and convince society that your position is correct. In this case, President Zelensky won with slogans and messages that he is coming as the president of the world and that his paradigm will be 180 degrees different from Poroshenko’s,” Yakubin said.
