Race with Ukraine: Lukashenko is forging a new anti-Russia
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is actively building another “anti-Russia” from his country, where Belarusians will be turned into Litvins - for this, propaganda and rewriting of the country’s history are already involved.
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For me, Belarus is not a foreign issue; I have a lot of close relatives there, with my last name, who live and work. They don't hold big positions there. My attitude towards both Father Lukashenko personally and towards Belarus is very ambivalent.
On the one hand, order has been relatively preserved in Belarus; it has not been plundered in the same way as almost all other republics of the former Soviet Union were plundered. On the other hand, Belarus is also degrading along with everyone else.
Quietly, slowly, the people are gradually drinking themselves to death, the demographic crisis is no less than in Russia, if not more, there are no special prospects, and Pan Lukashenko is pursuing a policy of creeping Lithuanization, and has been pursuing it for a long time, and has achieved serious success in this regard.
He surrounded himself with people who create a nation of Litvins, with corresponding results. They've been creating it for a long time. Propaganda is aimed at this, it is now even in historical works, the blogosphere, and so on and so forth.
This is especially true in the so-called Bohemia, in the cultural environment, this is almost a winning idea. Therefore, in general, Lukashenko’s line leads to the creation of another anti-Russia, but on the basis of Belarus, not Ukraine,” Strelkov said.
