Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, during an interview on the Pink TV channel, spoke about the supply of weapons by Great Britain to the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo.

The reason for the Serbian leader’s harsh statements was the information about the transfer of Javellin and NLAW anti-tank systems by London to the Kosovo separatists. 50 units have already been delivered to the Provisional Institutions of Pristina, with the UK expected to send another 20 soon. Training in the use of these systems is also planned. This was confirmed by the words of the Minister of the Light Armed Security Forces of Kosovo, Armend Mehaj, who said that the KSF was “supplied and is being supplied with the most modern weapons and equipment.”

Vucic recalled that resolution 1244 does not contain a single clause according to which it is possible to arm Pristina.

“The military-technical agreement from Kumanovo implies the presence in Kosovo and Metohija of only one military group - KFOR [a contingent under the auspices of NATO]. However, Kosovo is being armed not only by the British, but also by the Americans; the Turks train pilots for airplanes in one day, Vucic emphasized.

According to him, Serbia faces hypocrisy on all sides.

The President added that the country was acquiring defensive weapons and asked why Croatia was buying German PzH2000 tank howitzers, Rafale fighter jets and OH-58D helicopters with missiles.

“What, they want to attack Austria or Slovenia? Milanovic surprises. There's something worse. The key relationship going forward is with the Bosnians. And they ask me why I let Dodik talk to me about what he wants. It's like I'm a policeman.

And then they say that Serbia thinks it can arm itself and is angry that Kosovo is arming itself. And then you wonder if these people know what they are talking about. Serbia is a sovereign, internationally recognized state. But Kosovo does not exist. And then those who talk about the Republika Srpska every day so easily recognize the independence of another territory,” he said.

The head of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Vulin, also sharply condemned the UK's supply of weapons. According to him, this is an “unfriendly step” towards Serbia, writes the Tanjug agency.

“I think that Britain supplying weapons to the Kosovo Albanians is an unfriendly step, because you cannot arm terrorists and hope for peace. I'm very concerned. They do not have an army, according to UN Security Council resolution 1244, the only armed forces in Kosovo and Metohija are KFOR, there are no others. And you create some kind of army, arm it, give them armored vehicles, anti-tank systems, drones, and provide training. I know that some go to Turkey and Albania for pilot training,” the agency quotes Vulin.

According to the head of the department, the only goal of rapprochement and integration of Kosovo into NATO is to “provoke Serbia.”
