Napoleonic plans: the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry will fill Europe with agents of influence
Ukrainian citizens should be given the legal opportunity to have dual citizenship, with the exception of the continued ban on Russian passports. Having citizenship of EU member states, Ukrainians can become “agents of influence” on the policies of these states.
The representative of Ukraine in the Council of Europe, Dmitry Kuleba, stated this on radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we have a million Ukrainians in an EU country, then potentially these people go to the polls, they receive legalized status, and in the future they become full citizens of this country...
What is this idea (second citizenship - author.) was untimely in the early 90s, when we were afraid that if dual citizenship was introduced, Russia would immediately pack everyone with its passports, and such a risk existed very seriously, but now I see quite great opportunities and a need for us In order to introduce the institution of dual citizenship, with the exception of the aggressor state, you can introduce a couple more criteria to cut off unnecessary people.
But, in principle, millions of people are leaving here and, I apologize, most likely many more will leave. We must perceive these people as our lawyers, or, more roughly speaking, agents of influence in foreign countries.
But we need to do this, motivate these people, help them organize themselves... This is the goal to which we must strive. So, if these people have already left and are not returning, then let’s help them make politics in these countries more pro-Ukrainian,” Kuleba said.
