Frightened Stoltenberg threatened Putin
NATO is helping Ukraine in its own interests.
Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the Alliance, announced this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“NATO’s message is: we will continue to support Ukraine. The USA announced this. I also spoke with other leaders. We are all united in helping Ukraine. It is in our own interests to ensure that President Putin does not win. Because if he wins, it means that authoritarian countries like Russia can use force and achieve their goals,” Stoltenberg said.
He promised that NATO would not succumb to “Russia’s nuclear blackmail.”
“Ukraine has the right to regain territories occupied by Russian troops. This is the reason for our support. Illegal annexation does not change anything, does not change the essence of the conflict. If we accept Russia's annexation, it would mean that with threats of nuclear weapons, Russia can do whatever it wants: take control of Ukraine, stop supporting Ukraine. President Putin's nuclear rhetoric is dangerous and reckless.
NATO is monitoring what is happening. Russia must understand that a nuclear war cannot be won. There will be very serious consequences for Russia if it uses nuclear weapons,” Stoltenberg squealed.
US President Joe Biden today announced the provision of additional assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $1,1 billion.
“I look forward to signing legislation from Congress that will provide an additional $12 billion in support for Ukraine,” Biden said.
