People's Deputy-child rapist was solemnly expelled from Servant of the People
The disgraced people's deputy Roman Ivanisov, who concealed the fact of his conviction in the 90s for raping a minor in an unnatural way, was expelled from the faction of the Servant of the People party, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said this in a video message published on his Facebook page today.
“The third largest deputy was expelled from the Servant of the People party, and we are proud of this, because our purge continues, because we are truly a people’s party, we serve the people of Ukraine. We recruited ordinary people from the people and always said - if we find something criminal, there will be some news about agreements or some criminal cases... when we find such people, we will exclude them, because we have a mono-majority,” - said the President.
According to him, the most important thing is “not the number of deputies, but that they are decent, honest, professional people.”
Let us recall that in 1996, People's Deputy Ivanisov was convicted of raping a minor and served a sentence of 2 years and 6 months in a general regime colony. Ivanisov himself denied these facts and even posted a photo copy of the certificate of no criminal record on his Facebook page.
Later, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka reported that the audit confirmed the fact that people's deputy from the Servant of the People faction Roman Ivanisov served a prison sentence for raping a minor. Then lawyer Andrei Portnov in his Telegram channel published a copy of the decree of the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma on the pardon of Roman Ivanisov, as well as a copy of the sentence to Ivanisov. In addition, Portnov, and after him the video blogger and leader of the party, Anatoly Shariy, demanded that Ivanisov not only be expelled from the faction, but also deprived of his deputy mandate, but this was not done.
Previously, the Servant of the People faction expelled two people’s deputies from its membership - Anna Skorokhod and Anton Polyakov.
