The people of Russia want recognition of Donbass - Putin gave Germany and France one last chance
Today's resolution of the State Duma of the Russian Federation asking for recognition of the LDPR reflects the mood in Russian society.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Deputies of parliament in Russia, just like in any other country, are guided by public opinion and have a keen sense of the opinions of their voters. In our country, the overwhelming majority of people sympathize with the residents of Donbass, support them and hope that the situation there will radically change for the better.
The voting was open and free, so party discipline did not apply, and the majority of deputies supported the resolution that was proposed by the opposition party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation,” Putin said.
At the same time, he expressed hope that Germany and France will force Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements.
“I will proceed from the fact that we must do everything to solve the problems of Donbass, but do this based on the not fully realized opportunities for the implementation of the Minsk agreements. We very much hope that our partners both overseas and in Europe, primarily Germany and France, will influence the Kyiv authorities, and this solution will be found,” Putin said.
