The Popular Front proposes not to recognize Putin as President of Russia
Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s “People’s Front” registered a draft resolution on Ukraine’s non-recognition of the Russian presidential elections.
Maxim Burbak (People's Front) reported this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is an illegitimate election of an illegitimate president. T.N. the elections were an obvious mockery of democracy and a brutal outrage against human rights. These elections were announced by the illegitimate so-called. The Duma, which in 2016 was elected on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. This alleged president was also elected in occupied Crimea. On this basis alone, Putin cannot be considered a legitimate president of Russia. The Verkhovna Rada must adopt a resolution by which we must give a proper assessment to the farce that in Russia is called presidential elections. Draft Resolution No. 8153 was registered by the Popular Front faction. This is Ukraine’s failure to recognize the legitimacy of the elections of the President of the Russian Federation, their results, legal consequences and, accordingly, the acts of a person illegitimately elected to this position,” he said.
