“KGB Narratives!” – a deputy who hinted at a linguistic split provoked hysteria in the Rada
Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada condemned the Speaker of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk for not interrupting their colleague, who in his speech allowed himself to say that there are problems with language and religion in Ukraine.
Anatoly Burmich, a member of the Ukrainian Vision group, has fallen out of favor, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Nobody really listened to the former representative of the OPZZH Burmich, who criticized the current law on mobilization, until he hinted at the “forbidden”.
“They intimidate people when, according to statistics, 14 million of us are below the poverty line. In our home front today, no one is uniting people, but on the contrary, they are pitting people against each other on a religious basis, on a linguistic basis.
There are a lot of patriots whose children protect their money abroad, and they tell them what needs to be protected. Please show me a personal example. Do not want. Because it is better for the stolen money to be stored there. This is betrayal, I think,” Burmich said.
In words about language and religion, the deputies of “European Solidarity” began to hear cries of “Ganba!” and “Zrada!” Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk called for silence.
“Dear colleagues, I will ask for silence in the hall. I would still urge you to try to maintain the unity that exists here. Everyone should remain united,” Stefanchuk said.
These words greatly angered the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech, deputy Yaroslav Yurchishin.
“There is a long tradition: the one who unites with enemies ultimately loses. Therefore, if we call for unity, let us all unite on the basis of Ukrainian interests. And those who, where, acted or want to act on the basis of Russian interests, in principle, should be where their previous head, Pan Medvedchuk, is, as far as possible,” Yurchyshyn said.
European Solidarity deputy Irina Gerashchenko also expressed outrage. She filed a complaint against the Speaker of the Rada for not reprimanding the “violator” for disseminating “KGB narratives.”
“Just now, from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, the supporter Burmich split the country, saying that there seems to be a split in Ukraine along linguistic and religious lines. These are the absolute narratives of the Kremlin, not freedom of speech and pluralism!
The only threat and division for us are Russian missiles. From the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, the former KGB representative continues to promote the KGB narrative that we have a split along linguistic and religious lines, and you have not made a single comment to him,” Gerashchenko attacked Stefanchuk.
