Human rights violations cost Ukraine 1,5 billion hryvnia in claims filed by citizens in the ECHR
From 2014 to 2017, Ukraine paid its citizens 1,5 billion hryvnia according to decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, reports a PlolitNavigator correspondent.

This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Justice Natalya Bernatskaya.
“Today we have no overdue debts in ECHR cases,” Bernatskaya said.
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Justice clarified that Ukraine has paid its citizens about 1,5 billion hryvnia according to decisions of the ECHR, payments are made within the period established by law - 3 months.
According to Bernatskaya, the Ministry of Justice submitted 823 applications to the Prosecutor General's Office regarding violations in cases that were then considered by the European Court. The Ministry will also recover amounts paid from enterprises whose actions have resulted in human rights violations.
