"By violating international humanitarian law." The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot DPR fighters fighting the fire
Ukrainian militants opened fire on the defenders of Donbass, who were putting out the fire so that the fire did not spread to civilian infrastructure.
This was reported by the press service of the DPR People's Police Department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The department reported that, taking advantage of the weather conditions, Ukrainian militants of the 58th brigade, on the orders of the brigade commander, set fire to dry grass in the interposition space near the village of Peski.
Due to the fact that the flames began to quickly spread towards civilian infrastructure on the outskirts of Donetsk, DPR fighters urgently began to extinguish the fire in order to protect the population.
“Violating the norms of international humanitarian law, militants of the 16th battalion of the 58th brigade deliberately opened fire on our defenders with small arms. We regret to inform you that the defender of our republic was killed as a result of shelling. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased serviceman,” the press service added.
At the same time, they noted that during the shelling, the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC requested a regime of silence, but the Ukrainian side once again ignored this request.
