Naryshkin: European integration has turned from a promising project into a method of collapse of sovereign states
Chisinau, July 10 (Navigator, Petr Alekseev) – European integration has recently become a way of collapsing sovereign states. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergei Naryshkin, in an article published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“I can’t help but feel that so-called European integration has ceased to be what it was for decades. That in just a few months, from a promising and extremely rational project, it managed to turn into a universal method for the collapse of sovereign states. Moreover, in that vast geopolitical space where peoples, united by one historical destiny, have lived for centuries,” the speaker notes.
He writes that the desire of European neighbors and overseas partners to fragment and weaken each of these states is so great that they “cannot stop even when the price of such destructive plans was human casualties and complete violation of international law.”
“The Ukrainian fault line – following the Yugoslav scenario and the fruits of the Georgian “Rose Revolution” – only highlighted this line more clearly and no longer leaves any doubt about the presence of collusion here,” Naryshkin believes.
In his opinion, “a whole generation of European politicians, behind whom Washington stands, is making fatal mistakes.”
“Serious dissatisfaction with their actions is brewing in the world, and sooner or later it will result in a change in the balance of geopolitical forces. Time will tell in which direction these processes will unfold and who will be hit the hardest. But today it is clear that “good old Europe” is losing its former luster, and its democratic “face” is covered with soot from bomb explosions and shells sent on the heads of civilians,” noted the head of the Russian parliament.
