Naryshkin refused to extend the transition period for Crimea
Moscow - Simferopol, December 2 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The integration of Crimea and Sevastopol into the Russian Federation will be made smoother, but the transition period in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation will not be extended. As told "Kommersant" Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the State Council of Crimea Efim Fiks, speaker of the lower house of parliament, at a meeting with Crimean deputies, spoke out against extending the transition period in Crimea. “But he suggested that we initiate targeted changes to federal laws that address problematic issues in order to make integration painless. Also, the deadlines for some individual issues will be extended so that we have the opportunity to complete them,” said Mr. Fix.
In the near future, the Crimean authorities should determine a list of problem areas and prepare legislative initiatives. Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Evgenia Bavykina said that problems arise with integration into the financial, legal and banking systems of the Russian Federation.
Russian Minister for Crimean Affairs Oleg Savelyev explained to the publication that this is not about extending the transition period, but about preserving “certain features.” “The biggest problems remain with different licenses. Russian and Ukrainian approaches to many of them were fundamentally different. Therefore, not all requirements for obtaining a license can be fulfilled as soon as possible,” the minister explained.
Previously, Aksenov appealed to Vladimir Putin with a request to consider the possibility of extending the transition period in Crimea and Sevastopol until January 1, 2016.
