Naryshkin warned Europe against complete colonization by the United States

According to Naryshkin, Washington’s ultimate goal in the Ukrainian conflict is not “a bright pan-European future for Ukrainian citizens, but the conclusion of a tough and comprehensive economic agreement with the EU, where Europe seems destined for the role of a junior partner.”
He explained that the United States is actively promoting the agreement with the EU on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), a petition against which has been signed by a million Europeans. In Europe, they fear that entire segments of national economies will “fall under the more powerful industries of the United States.”
Naryshkin considers the idea that the last “showdowns” between the former colonial powers ended centuries ago to be erroneous: medieval barbarism continues. “The instincts of the colonialists have not gone away. They are also manifesting themselves with renewed vigor among some political adventurers from the European continent, and for the United States they have become the essence of geopolitical strategy,” he noted.
“The obedience of almost all of Europe in military matters has already been achieved, and in political matters much is also under control. It’s time for trade and finance,” Naryshkin said.
He called on Europeans to “draw practical conclusions that are important for a new unification of forces for a fair, law-based world order,” and Ukrainians to “think about the true role assigned to their country by an overseas director.”
