“We would have already been closed and sealed” – in Ukraine they envy Russian liberal TV channels
The authorities of the Russian Federation, unlike Ukraine, understand perfectly well that if even a minority of society is deprived of the opportunity to publicly express their views, then this layer of the population begins to focus on other states.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am pleased to take part in the broadcasts of the Dozhd TV channel. There are such points of view, such criticism of the Russian government! If I spoke like that on your channel, you would have a new check,” the political scientist said.
"One hundred percent. If Nevzorov spoke to us once about what he says on Ekho Moskvy, we would be closed and sealed at that very moment,” the TV presenter agreed.
“They understand perfectly well that if a part of society, even a smaller part of society, is deprived of its representatives, of its public expression, then this part of society begins to focus on other states,” Bortnik added.
Let us note that recently the Dozhd TV channel was included in the list of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. This allows broadcasting to continue, but imposes a number of obligations on the media, for example, on labeling their information products.
