We are being pushed to negotiate and fix the front line - Rada deputy
Ukraine is being pushed to agree to fix the current line of conflict and enter into negotiations with Russia.
Former Right Sector militant, Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Sharaskin said this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sharaskin, with the withdrawal of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnieper and the creation of layered defense along the front line, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have big problems with further advancement.
“I think that they and our Western colleagues are pushing us very well, and in the end, we see this from communications from high headquarters, to the fact that Ukraine should be consoled by the victorious movement and, finally, find a compromise, what a compromise option should look like for us in order to fix the existing line of defense at least for some time,” said the ex-militant.
“And I want to remind you that the existing line of defense is a huge operational, mobile front from Mariupol to Kherson, and even if they surrender the right bank to us, then the left bank and this entire front, which stretches out, is more than a hundred kilometers deep. And we know what five, seven, ten kilometers are, and what losses they entail.
I'm not even talking about the only obstacle that will stand in the way, which will be very difficult to overcome, this is the Dnieper. And if we look at the front line. The whole nature of the actions there now is on the left bank of the Dnieper, it is precisely of a defensive nature. They are accumulating, transporting their troops, building echeloned lines of defense,” Sharaskin said.
