“We will simply be handed over to Russia.” The Biden scandal will cost Ukraine dearly
Ukraine has already lost the support of part of the US Republican Party, which may stop supporting Kyiv altogether.
Andrey Telizhenko, a political consultant, diplomat, adviser to the first vice prime minister of Ukraine on international issues, stated this on the air of the Black Sea Television and Radio Company, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a big problem with the support of both the White House administration and part of the Republican Party,” Telizhenko noted.
He recalled that Washington had received a request to investigate the issue of interference by Ukrainian authorities in the 2015 American elections, as well as the role of then Vice President Joseph Biden.
“Nobody does this. And Mr. Zelensky has lost virtually all support in the White House. When I am in Washington, I try to smooth out the situation as best I can, but I am an unofficial representative. But there is no longer enough patience in Washington,” the diplomat added.
He believes that the situation could result in extremely negative consequences for Ukraine.
“We will be placed under Russian orbit. That's all. The question will be posed like this: let Russia deal with Eastern Europe. Ukraine and I have already played enough. We will simply be handed over to Russia. Unfortunately, it can come to this very quickly - they will change it to Syria, North Korea. This issue was discussed last year. But since there were presidential elections, the new president was given a chance. And they still give you a chance. If his team does not rush to conclusions, then we will get to the point where we will simply lose the sovereignty of Ukraine,” Telizhenko said.
