“Truck-sized reactors from the USA will save us!” – Energoatom reassures Ukraine
Just as the Ukrainians were once promised victory at the front at the expense of the “holy Javelins,” now the “hulks” are being encouraged by the announcement of deliveries from the United States of “truck-sized reactors,” with the help of which they will supposedly be able to get out of the blackout.
The head of Energoatom, Pyotr Kotin, stated this on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This project is very profitable. This is perspective, this is the future. Ukraine is in the first positions in MMR technologies. We have established contacts with Holtec International, they have an example of a small modular reactor, and with NuScale we have appropriate agreements on the development of this area. This area is very well funded by the United States.
The whole point is that it (a nuclear reactor) is very small, and the range can go from microreactors to small modular reactors, and then to the large ones that we operate. That is, microreactors are now being produced - it’s actually a truck that has such a reactor in the back, and it can drive up to any territory and work there for a year,” Kotin said.
