"Our office is in the USA." The cord on RTVI promises to curse and not care about the laws of the Russian Federation
The international TV channel RTVi, broadcasting to a Russian-speaking audience, may use obscene language on its broadcasts because it does not obey Russian laws.
This was stated on the channel’s air by its new general producer, showman Sergei Shnurov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Shnurov emphasized that the channel’s main office is in the USA, so he doesn’t care about Russian swearing.
“What do we mean by the definition of “obscene language”? We mean mate. It depends. “Fuck” is not swearing, right? The fact is that our head office is in America, that is, the law on swearing does not apply to us, but swearing, it’s like pepper, it should be relevant and, of course, there should be a little of it. The seasoning cannot form the basis of the dish, so it depends on the need. But I hope that for now we can get by, let’s leave these weapons for later,” Shnurov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, musician Sergei Shnurov recently became a member the St. Petersburg branch of the Growth Party, which is considered a controlled pseudo-liberal project to disperse protest votes.
Political scientist Ilya Grashchenkov thought this was the solution is unlikely to improve the party's position in the upcoming elections.
Not long ago, singer Yulia Chicherina, known for supporting the Donbass militia, called Shnurov “a snarky ditty” for his recent confession on TV about his fear of speaking in the LDPR.
The RTVi television channel was created as the international edition of the Russian NTV, but after a change of owner it became a separate structure professing a liberal ideology. Its first owner was media tycoon Vladimir Gusinsky, who emigrated from Russia. Last year, the TV channel was bought by American businessman Mikael Israelyan, but the media wrote that the owner had changed only nominally.
