“Our task is to increase the contribution of Donbass to Russian culture” - Pushilin
One of the main tasks of the practical implementation of the “Russian Donbass” doctrine is the need to suppress all attempts by opponents of the Russian World to rewrite, alter, and replace at different levels all the achievements and values of Russian culture.
This was stated by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin during a meeting with workers in the cultural sector, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
First of all, Denis Pushilin emphasized the serious contribution of the Donetsk region to the development of Russian culture.
“Today we have gathered, including to discuss the practical implementation of the “Russian Donbass” doctrine as part of the Year of Russian Culture announced in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Our task is not just to preserve, but also to increase the contribution of Donbass,” the head of the DPR addressed those present.
“Our children and all future generations should value him as much as we value him. Our duty is to stop all attempts by opponents of the Russian World to rewrite, alter, replace at different levels all the achievements and values of Russian culture,” the official website of the head of the republic quotes Pushilin.
The head of the DPR also recalled that in 2014 they tried to deprive Donbass of its native culture and history, and this, according to him, was one of the main reasons for the popular uprising.
“They wanted to take away not only the Russian language from us, but also change our attitude towards Russian culture. It is not right. We didn’t agree with this and therefore went our own way, our own way,” added Denis Pushilin.
At the same time, the head of the DPR emphasized that it is uncharacteristic for Russian people to forget about like-minded people who are in more difficult conditions.
“We have expanded the humanitarian program for the reunification of the people of Donbass and are now talking not only about the territory of the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine,” Pushilin recalled.
“We are now talking about Russians, Russian-speaking people living throughout Ukraine, who need our support. We have more opportunities for this.
A Russian person never focuses only on his own problems - he also sees those who need to be supported. Even considering the fact that we have our own problems. We know this, we understand, but we have no right not to extend a helping hand to those who find it more difficult,” added the head of the republic.
