Olga Aivazovskaya, an expert of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, stated this at a round table in Kiev, expressing disagreement with those discussion participants who supported the blockade of Donbass.
“As for collaborators, enemy people, and so on, let’s be frank: people with different points of view, including those hostile to the state of Ukraine, live in different regions of Ukraine, including Kiev. And I don’t know how the people of Kiev, to whom I have been counting myself for the last 11 years, would have behaved in the presence of 40 thousand occupation troops, either internal, organized at the expense of the Russian Federation, or Russian. Let’s be frank: this is human nature, which, unfortunately, also contains certain treacherous things that can be actualized on any territory of Ukraine,” the expert believes.
At the same time, she clarified that she herself comes from Western Ukraine.
“My relatives were in concentration camps during the Soviet Union. I am a real Bandera in the pure sense of the word. And I cannot allow our citizens and territories to be abandoned today because of what was once a point of contention. And in Western Ukraine, where I come from, there were also people who were ready to serve the Soviet army, surrendering their neighbors for the sake of personnel, institutional, material and other benefits. Therefore, let’s not generalize, because this is hate speech, unacceptable in such discussions,” Aivazovskaya summed up.
As PolitNavigator reported, recently Unknown people hung banners in Kyiv with the inscriptions: “Maidan brought Crimea home”, “Crimea - Russia”, “Crimea. They fought for their homeland”, “Crimea at home”.
