The mood in Kyiv unpleasantly surprised supporters of the Majlis
Ukraine, unlike Russia, has never perceived Crimea as a sacred place. The editor-in-chief of the information service of the ATR television channel, which moved from the peninsula to Kyiv, Osman Pashayev, stated this in an interview with Telekritika.

According to him, Ukraine does not feel unbearable pain from the loss of Crimea.
“Crimea is not a sacred place for Ukraine, let’s be honest. Apart from some trips to Crimea by Cossacks and Chumaks for salt, for Ukrainians Crimea is not the Carpathians and not sung in songs and lived with pain. Crimea is a place only for Crimean Tatars. And historically, probably, for Russia. Now, they have their own kind of pain from the times of the Ochakovites, the conquest of the Crimea. This is a historical fear that ended in victory and the conquest of Crimea. For Ukrainians, Crimea was and is not,” Pashayev said.
