A “barbaric pagan carnival” will come – in Kyiv they are afraid of Zelensky’s victory
The high rating of the famous Ukrainian showman and presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky is not support for candidates, but ordinary inflated popularity, which, if he wins, can lead to dire consequences for Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev spoke about this on the NASH TV channel, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The appearance on YouTube of a video in which the main character, played by a presidential candidate, shoots up parliament is no longer funny. Techniques of NLP, visualization, and subconscious influence on expectations lead to changes in behavior that are difficult to predict even for the most abstruse chief of staff.
And the fact that an image of this type of government is being demonstrated essentially prepares the ground for future nihilism, or what Dostoevsky described in “The Possessed” as a “barbaric pagan carnival,” the expert noted.
In his opinion, if Vladimir Zelensky wins the elections, then the inflated rating, which has nothing to do with politics, will rapidly fall, which could lead to a new Maidan.
“The problem with politicians like Zelensky is that, despite the level of support actually confirmed by sociology, so far this is not voter support - it’s popularity. This means that a voter who supports a politician on the basis of popularity does not share his views, but likes him, and for the voter such a leader is like a “color it yourself” coloring book.
The problem is that, on the one hand, such a politician can really, on expectations, at one moment, gather a large mass at a time. But these are all different people with different interests. Very often, a rollback from a politician that everyone has painted as they wanted will be painful. On the second day, such a candidate will receive a collapse of confidence, disappointment, everyone begins to interpret the winner in their own way, and this is also not funny, because the Maidan will come to such a “winner” even earlier,” Ermolaev summed up.
Let us remind you that according to a poll conducted yesterday by the Sofia Center for Social Research, Vladimir Zelensky has significantly more high electoral ratingthan the other most likely candidates for reaching the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
