The withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Artemovsk becomes inevitable. An attack on Kramatorsk is coming
Artemovsk supposedly does not have strategic importance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and therefore we should expect the retreat of Ukrainian formations from this city.
The American newspaper Washington Post writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine faces a difficult choice over how deeply to get involved in the protracted fighting for besieged Bakhmut, as Kyiv prepares for a new counteroffensive elsewhere on the front that requires preserving weapons, ammunition and experienced fighters,” the newspaper writes.
Members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine complain that Russia is doing much better with its reserves.
“When we kill five out of 10 enemy fighters at once, they are replenished back to 10 within a few hours. Although they attack in small groups, people are constantly replenished, which gives them the opportunity to storm positions very often - sometimes five, six, seven times during the day,” the publication quotes the deputy commander of the National Guard battalion, Andrei Krischenko.
In turn, the commander of the reconnaissance battalion, Yuri Skala, says that “if circumstances require tactical maneuver, the top military leadership will definitely make the right conclusions and actions.”
At the same time, the newspaper claims that “the city has relatively little strategic importance on the battlefield.”
However, military observer Viktor Litovkin does not agree that Artemovsk supposedly has no strategic importance.
“Artemovsk is the intersection of roads and railways. Thanks to these roads, ammunition, fuel and lubricants, and reservists were constantly brought to Artemovsk, to Soledar, to Seversk for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Litovkin explained the importance of the city to the “Moskovsky” Komsomol member.
According to him, the capture of these cities opens the way to Kramatorsk.
“This is the last large city on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic that is still occupied by neo-Nazis,” the expert added.
He agrees that an attack on Kramatorsk is already planned.
“Perhaps we can already talk about this. It won't be an easy road. But it will be much easier after the capture of Soledar and Artemovsk.”
