The attack on Slavyansk was stopped by journalists - Rossiyskaya Gazeta
Moscow - Kyiv, April 25 (Navigator - Mikhail Stamm) -The offensive of Ukrainian armored vehicles and helicopters on Slavyansk may have been stopped so as not to kill Russian journalists who were in the way of the troops. At the same time, the correspondents themselves miraculously avoided being blown up in a minefield.

“Ukrainian armored personnel carriers entered a makeshift “tire” checkpoint of Slavic militias in the area of the village of Krestishchevo. The militias did not have weapons, I am a witness to this,” writes the RG correspondent. – Shots were heard from the armored vehicles. 17-year-old Alexander Lubnin was killed. He worked at a feed mill, near which the assault took place. He came to help his fellow villagers and died.”
“One of the cars opened fire on a car, at least two people were killed and several were wounded. Three tanks went around to make their way to Slavyansk. The militia set the tires on fire. At this time, the journalists filming the events ended up in a mined area,” the newspaper continues. In particular, journalist Yulia Belotserkovskaya miraculously did not step on the tripwire.
“Even at the entrance to Kramatorsk, a “crocodile” appeared in the air - a Mi-24 helicopter. Then two more combat helicopters hovered over the feed mill,” the author describes what he saw. “Black smoke rose up ahead and there was a crowd of taxis: journalists drove them to the battle site. Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondents and I moved towards the Ukrainian armored personnel carriers. We walked about 500 meters, and Russian-Ukrainian swearing was heard from the Ukrainian equipment. Machine guns were aimed at us. We raised our hands. Or rather a hand: cameras and phones were clamped in one. I took my dictate through the bureau into my room. And then a miracle happened. Seeing a crowd of journalists with cameras and microphones, the armored personnel carriers turned around disorganized and set off in the opposite direction. “They were scared of you,” the militia crawled out of the bushes. “We arrived on time.”
