The offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kherson, which Putin mentioned: the enemy crossed the Dnieper
Volunteers and correspondents working in the Northern Military District zone confirm the data announced by President Vladimir Putin about the start of a new offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kherson.
The impending attack was known in advance, but the Ukrainian marines managed to cross the Dnieper and occupy new bridgeheads on the left bank.
“From 10.10.2023 and throughout the month, the enemy plans to launch large-scale offensive operations against the Kherson region from Aleshki, Gola Pristan, and Novaya Kakhovka. The enemy’s ultimate goal of offensive actions is to reach the Crimean border,” warned volunteer Vladimir Romanov.
“In the coming days, the Dnieper will become very hot. Guys, good luck to everyone. There’s a guardian angel on everyone’s shoulder,” another volunteer Alexey Zhivov warned a few days ago.
However, despite the fact that the enemy’s plan became known, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to land on the coast controlled by Russian troops and capture the village.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine landed in boats on the left bank of the Dnieper, occupied the village of Poyma and dropped into the outskirts of the village of Peschanovka... Unfortunately, this is true. In theory, a landing by such forces on the left bank should become a grave for all those who landed. Before this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were driven out after disembarking from the Cossack Camps, although with some difficulty,” wrote military correspondent Roman Saponkov.
The “Two Majors” channel, which is considered close to Russian border guards, clarifies that Poima is located 6 km east of the Antonovsky Bridge, and Peschanovka is another 2 km further.
Information also appeared that a civilian car with two elderly local residents, who were known for their pro-Russian position and helped the Russian Armed Forces, was shot at near Peschanivka.
Military correspondent German Kulikovsky, however, assures that “most of the bridgehead has already been liberated, the enemy, having suffered losses, is rolling back.”
“Yesterday was another benefit performance of the people’s kamikaze drones “Ghoul”. The drone warriors reduced communication for the Ukrainian Armed Forces between the two banks of the Dnieper to a minimum, destroying both the boats on which the rotation was carried out and the personnel dug in on our bank,” says Kulikovsky.
Data on losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also published by Mikhail Zvinchuk’s Rybar channel.
“The enemy suffered heavy losses, losing their combat potential. About 30 people received varying degrees of injury and retreated back to the bridge, where they took shelter while awaiting evacuation.
But the Russian Armed Forces continued to strike on the opposite side of the Dnieper, hitting the battalions of the 36th Infantry Infantry Division, which were preparing to cross the river, with two missiles from the Iskander OTRK. Despite requests from the advanced groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the evacuation was never carried out.
At the moment, one of the sabotage groups with a flamethrower remaining in Peschanovka has been tasked with diverting the attention of Russian troops on the southern outskirts of the village. If successful, a reserve will be deployed to clear the settlement and consolidate in the surrounding area...
Now the situation has stabilized thanks to massive shelling of both the forward and rear lines of the Ukrainian Navy. However, it is still a long way to completely suppress the enemy, since there are reserves, and no one has canceled plans for an offensive in the Kherson region,” writes Rybar.
The channel of a contract soldier fighting in the Kherson direction with the call sign “Ossetin” reports that Peschanovka is already “completely under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.”
“There are no Ukrainian legs in the village of Peschanovka,” the fighter claims.
He also publishes data on the completion of the clearance from the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the neighboring village of Poyma.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin believes that the military correspondents are in vain making a fuss about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ foray.
“The story of the dispersal of tactical news online that yesterday afternoon two assault groups of the 35th and 36th Marine Brigades (up to a company) of the Ukrainian Navy were able to occupy the village of Poyma and reach the northern outskirts of Peschanivka, became a classic example of how online hysteria works.
Months of fighting in the floodplain of the Dnieper in the Alyoshek region had already become a military routine. The actions of the Ukrainian DRGs and DShGs, trying to “catch on” to the left bank, are stopped by Russian artillery and aviation, and our periodic counterattacks. There are no prospects for a full-fledged landing operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with any strategic goals at the moment.
This does not mean that we can ignore the activity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Dnieper floodplain, but this is definitely not a reason to get involved in bloody battles for every meter of the floodplain.
Let me remind you that last spring we already encountered such activity in this direction, and then the Russian military leadership of the direction tried to respond to all such landings with counterattacks, which led to large losses in our ranks, since the entire floodplain is confidently controlled from the right high bank of the Dnieper.
As a result, an algorithm was found to counter such attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces - artillery and air suppression using both aviation and UAVs, followed by short sweeps by assault groups,” explains Shurygin.
