To the thunderous applause of the United States and European supporters of Galicia's European integration, presidential elections in Ukraine took place last week. The results surprised no one. It was not for nothing that Poroshenko diligently climbed onto bulldozers, parted the clouds with his hands, promised to restore the center of Kyiv and made fiery speeches from the Maidan stage.

Yes, and his urgent requests to the Ukrainians: to ensure turnout and vote for the right candies, excuse me, for the right and honest candidate, quite clearly hinted at the outcome of the elections. The call to understand the complexity of the situation and rise in unison so that the elections would be held in one round, in advance ensured a record turnout of voters and unanimous approval of lard in chocolate. Now the government quarter has breathed a sigh of relief, because in their opinion, Ukraine has acquired a legitimate and legitimate president. Let's start with the fact that initially the legality of the elections was a big question. How can you elect a new president if the old one is alive and well and writes letters to ITAR-TASS? And we are not talking about sympathy or antipathy for President Yanukovych, but about the situation with the legality of his removal from office by the Generalissimo, who is also the speaker and pastor, Turchynov.

As is known: President Yanukovych did not submit his resignation, much less announce it at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada (Article 109).

At the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada it was not established that for health reasons, Yanukovych cannot exercise the powers of the President (Article 110). Why acting Turchinov became the head of state and all the “legalists” recognized this is still a big question for me. It turns out that not only in corrupt gangster Ukraine, but also in the progressive EU with all its conventions and bills, the law is like a drawbar: wherever you turn, that’s where it ends up.

Against the backdrop of the civil war in the southeast and the escalation of the conflict with the self-proclaimed republics of the DPR and LPR, holding elections is an absurd decision to say the least. Firstly, no one guaranteed the safety of voters and control over the electoral process. Secondly, the main argument against the referendum in the South-East, held on May 11, sounded like “the impossibility of expressing will at gunpoint.” The machine guns have not disappeared anywhere, and even RPGs have increased, but for some reason it turned out that it was possible to vote for Poroshenko even in such difficult conditions. “The match will take place in any weather.” This direction for holding elections initially came from Kyiv, and even the acting minister of social networks, Avakov, stated long before May 25 that in the current situation, unfortunately, it was unlikely to be able to properly organize a plebiscite in a number of areas.

It’s sad, but what can you do... you have to choose. And we need a president. Urgently. Otherwise, the IMF will not issue the next tranche and the one and a half billion will not end up in pre-prepared pockets. By the way, a lyrical digression: thanks to the frenzied desire to receive another financial injection from the IMF, Ukrainians are denied the conversion of foreign currency loans into hryvnia at the exchange rate at the time of receiving the loan. All borrowers will have to pay 40% more interest than planned. And this is for now...

Returning to the topic of elections during war. Even in the relatively calm Kharkov region, more than a million ballots remained unclaimed. In Donbass, many polling stations did not work at all. People protested against the elections. They were considered illegal. But nevertheless, Kyiv and the “progressive community” recognized everything. The President has already been called the element that unites and reconciles all regions. And Poroshenko himself, newly elected by the Central Election Commission and Bankova, speaks about some kind of popular support for European integration.

Will the “Path to Europe” consolidate the country? And in the Donbass too?.. Lately I have been getting the impression that the Kyiv region is being decimated by some kind of virus that affects brain activity. There is a civil war in the country. The civilian population of the Donetsk region is suffering from the ATO. And Kyiv tells us how much everyone wants to go to Europe and shows us where these 50% of citizens who supported Poroshenko live.

The gap between Kiev and the regions is growing every day. How the new acting president plans to resolve all conflicts is a mystery to me. And he doesn't seem particularly concerned about them. Now the main thing is to hold the inauguration and take photographs at the summits with the “leaders of leading states.”

That's how we live.
