NATO goes to Ukraine
The Ukrainian parliament approved the president’s initiative to allow foreign military personnel into the territory of Ukraine in 2019 under the pretext of conducting international exercises, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order to interact with NATO countries, the armed forces of Ukraine will once again conduct exercises at our training grounds with the participation of representatives of NATO countries, namely their military units. This is the constitutional authority of the president to submit relevant proposals for approval to the Verkhovna Rada. This needs to be done urgently, now, without any political discussions,” said co-rapporteur on the law, MP from the BPP Ivan Vinnik.
As a result of the voting, the law was adopted by a majority - 263 out of 353 deputies voted “For”.
Let us recall that earlier PolitNavigator cited a statement by Ukrainian Army General Alexander Kikhtenko that no one will take Ukraine into NATO while there is a military conflict in the country, therefore, you need to build an army yourself and directly be friends with the United States in the hope of increasing financial assistance.
