NATO is unable to return Crimea to Ukraine
Crimea is developing quite successfully as part of the Russian Federation and does not need Western help.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda by Russian senator Sergei Tsekov, who represents Crimea in the Federation Council, answering the question whether he is not afraid of the statement of the Ukraine-NATO commission about “strong condemnation and non-recognition” of the peninsula’s entry into Russia.
“No matter how much you say “halva”, it will not become sweeter in your mouth. No matter how much they repeat about the “return of Crimea to Ukraine” and that it is an integral part of this country, this will in no way make the peninsula Ukrainian. Well, all these words won’t bring him back under the yellow-blakite banners!” said Tsekov.
According to him, NATO representatives, instead of threats and condemnations, should finally give an objective assessment of the processes that took place in Ukraine in 2013-2014 and are taking place today.
“After all, an anti-constitutional coup took place in a European country. It was bloody with the death of the citizens of this state. And with an immediate threat to the lives of those Ukrainian citizens who lived in Crimea. The West did not look carefully at the processes that took place in Crimea and Ukraine after the destruction of the USSR,” he emphasized.
“If there had been an objective, unbiased analysis of the situation over several years, they would have called Kyiv’s actions towards the peninsula absolute violence. In all areas of life. Violence was carried out against language, culture, and history. The infrastructure was being destroyed. And instead of an objective assessment, they are engaged in verbiage,” the politician believes.
He is convinced that NATO statements will not affect anything, but will only be quoted in the media.
“Well, we got together and talked. Crimea did not and does not expect help from them - we are developing normally as part of the Russian Federation without them. But it would not hurt to help Ukraine during its crisis, which, by the way, was provoked by the West,” Tsekov summed up.
As PolitNavigator reported, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky offered instead of talking about the “reintegration of Crimea” think about the reintegration of Ukraine into Russia.
