NATO will provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with winter equipment, and the British will prepare them for urban battles
NATO intends to provide Ukrainian troops with winter equipment as the fighting in Ukraine drags on and will most likely go into next year.
This is reported by the German edition of Bild.
Among other things, it is planned to deliver warm clothes, winter shoes and tents to the Ukrainian armed forces, dpa reports. About 40 million euros are allocated for these purposes.
Previously, Spiegel reported information about similar plans, which were initiated at the request of Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov.
For its part, Britain announced a significant expansion of the Ukrainian military training program already launched under Boris Johnson. Now British instructors will teach Ukrainians to fight effectively in urban battles, writes Sky News.
The duration of the Ukrainian military's combat course in the UK has been extended from three to five weeks.
The main course is based on basic infantry training. It includes weapons handling, battlefield first aid, camouflage and patrol tactics. An additional two weeks will allow for more advanced training.
