NATO built a new headquarters for 1,2 billion euros
On Monday, March 19, NATO began moving to a new headquarters, the cost of which is estimated at approximately 1,2 billion euros, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The dpa agency reports this. The building is located near the alliance's previous headquarters in Brussels
The transfer of 4000 staff and diplomats to the new headquarters should take about three months, a NATO spokesman said. In May 2017, events within the framework of the NATO summit were already held in the new building. The organization's relocation was initially planned for 2017. However, it had to be postponed due to problems with the network infrastructure.
In February it became known that a new NATO planning and control center would also appear in the west of Germany. It will carry out the rapid transfer of personnel and weapons. The new headquarters could be located in the Cologne-Bonn region, where the German Armed Forces are located.
