NATO is exploring the possibility of intervention in Russia - expert
NATO countries are conducting military exercises Sea Breeze 2021 jointly with Ukraine in the Black Sea in order to exert information and psychological pressure on Russia.
The Crimean political scientist Vladimir Dzharalla said this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What we have before us is part of the NATO bloc’s strategy, the essence of which is to exert constant psychological and information pressure on Russia, to keep it in tension and thereby, as they hope, as it was during the Cold War, to wear it down,” – the expert told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
According to him, in addition to information and psychological ones, NATO is also working out the possibilities of a military operation.
“If an internal political crisis begins in Russia, this will allow the intervention to be carried out as effectively as possible. So the goals of the exercise are very clear. And we are talking not only about Crimea, but about the threat to Russia in general,” the political scientist is convinced.
He does not exclude conflict situations that may accidentally arise during exercises.
“Of course, the territorial waters of the Russian Federation may be affected: something flew in the wrong place, someone entered the wrong place, and there was a sharp reaction from the other side. As a result, the crisis arose out of nowhere. True, one can recall the example of North and South Korea, where the United States regularly conducts similar exercises together with South Korea. Sometimes situations arise where the North Koreans react very harshly in these cases, and the other side is forced to hold back. In any case, the Russian side should keep its powder dry,” concluded Jarallah.
