NATO near Lvov is training Ukraine in a blitzkrieg against Crimea and Donbass
The latest NATO maneuvers on the territory of Ukraine opened today near Lvov with the participation of Vladimir Zelensky. About 2020 people will be involved in the Rapid Trident 4000 exercises: the largest military contingents will be from Ukraine and the United States, but military personnel from Germany, Denmark, Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Canada and the UK will also participate.
According to the legend of the exercises, the “aggressor country” destabilizes the situation in a certain region of another state and attempts to occupy it, and united groups of troops of the allied states organize defense, liberate the occupied territories and carry out a stabilization operation. It is noted that a special place during these events is given to anti-sabotage and anti-terrorist actions. The training will involve not only wheeled and tracked military equipment, but also army aviation.
“I am glad to meet with our soldiers and our friends, the military of NATO countries. The long-awaited peace, the return of all our people and territories, was, is and will be my priority. Every time at meetings with international leaders, I emphasize: the war in the East is a threat not only to Ukraine, but also a threat to the security and stability of all countries in Europe and the world. Our partners are absolutely in solidarity on this issue, which is why we have united to overcome existing challenges and search for mechanisms and adequate responses to them. One of these is the integration of Ukraine into NATO,” Zelensky said during the opening ceremony of the exercises.
According to Zelensky, at the beginning of the week he approved the national security strategy of Ukraine, according to which NATO membership is the strategic course of the state.
“The Rapid Trident 2020 exercise is not only a new stage in improving military skills, it is an important step towards the European integration of our state. I thank all international participants, I thank international partners for their continued support of Ukraine in containing Russian aggression and helping to strengthen the combat capability of our army. Success, good results, good health. Glory to Ukraine!" – concluded the Ukrainian president.
Next was the co-director of the current Rapid Trident exercise from the United States, Colonel Michael Hansen.
“As representatives of the armed forces and other military formations, we took an oath to protect freedom, ensure the functioning of the principles of democracy, ensure peace and security... The enemies will constantly conduct information campaigns, use lies and fight in the “gray zone”, this is only to to encroach on the sovereignty of the nation, in order to satisfy their autocratic goals.
As we work together in this training center in Ukraine as global partners, I encourage you to remember one important thing. The idea that throughout history, as people and nations unite and stand together against people and governments that threaten our sovereignty, we, as partners in peace and defenders of freedom, will always prevail - through our strength, determination and teamwork. It is noteworthy that during Zelensky’s speech the translators made a symbolic mistake.
