NATO will support military-technical cooperation with Ukraine - Poroshenko

According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, he met with British Prime Minister David Cameron, US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and French President Francois Hollande.
“There is an understanding that by supporting Ukraine, supporting peace, stability and de-escalation of the situation in the East, they support the stability of Europe and the world. Today this is not only a question of the Ukrainian conflict, it is a global question,” Poroshenko believes, as quoted on the official website.
He also said that an exchange of views took place on several areas. In particular, support for Ukraine in the security sector was discussed. “Today, the NATO summit resolution will clearly state that Ukraine has support from NATO,” the President said, noting that decisive decisions will be made to involve Ukraine in a special program where 4 trust funds will be created that will help resolve logistics issues , communications, cybercrime, social rehabilitation of the wounded.
According to Poroshenko, the meeting participants paid special attention to military-technical cooperation. The declaration will indicate that NATO supports bilateral decisive actions by member countries to provide military-technical support to Ukraine. “This is exactly what we were waiting for,” summed up the Ukrainian president.
He also noted that today the coordination of further actions, including the issue of applying sanctions, will be discussed.
As PolitNavigator reported, joint exercises between the Ukrainian military and NATO are scheduled to take place in Western Ukraine in mid-September.
