It is reported by Reuters.
Plans include a €1,7 billion investment in satellite communications to improve military support for ships deployed across the alliance, as well as for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and drones, according to a senior official at the NATO Communications and Information Agency.
It is not yet clear whether NATO allies will launch a new communications satellite or improve the performance of an already launched one.
The funding proposals, which must be approved by NATO governments, also include spending around 800 million euros on computer systems that will support the air and missile defense team.
And also 71 million euros will go to improve the protection of 32 main NATO points from cyber attacks.
They want to spend another 180 million euros to provide more secure mobile communications for alliance soldiers in the field.
NATO will present its requirements in detail at a conference in Ottawa in April.
