NATO is trying to intimidate Russia by increasing arms supplies to Ukraine - Finnish Prime Minister
Initiatives from Western bloc countries are needed to convince Moscow of NATO’s determination to support the Kiev regime to the end.
Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin stated this at the Munich Security Conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The message from Russia is that this assistance will not end. We will help as much as necessary. And Finland will accept the third package of arms assistance to Ukraine. It is important that we discuss tanks, planes, training that Ukrainians need in order to use these weapons.
A joint effort is needed because no one can do it alone. Only together we can change the situation,” said Marin.
The moderator asked whether Finland would provide tanks.
“I won’t announce now,” the prime minister avoided.
“There is disappointment among Ukrainians. Everyone says they will support as long as necessary. But when you ask specifically, they don’t say anything,” the moderator pressed.
However, the politician still avoided making a meaningful promise.
“We have a policy that we do not publicly announce such things. Ukrainians know what we gave. Of course, we will make statements when we accept the third package and discuss with the Ukrainians what they need. We have a very good connection with them,” Marin again avoided a direct answer.
