NATO is building four bases in Ukraine to “lock down” the Black Sea Fleet
NATO countries are building naval bases in Ukraine and using its territory as a training ground for practicing attacks on Russia.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov stated this at a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Azarov, NATO is participating in the construction of four naval bases on Ukrainian territory in order to “lock up” the Russian Black Sea Fleet and deprive it of the ability to maneuver.
“The United States satellite, Great Britain, has entered into an agreement, for example, to build four naval bases. These are Berdyansk, Melitopol, Ochakov and Nikolaev. Two on the Black Sea, as we know from geography, two on the Sea of Azov.
The task, of course, is strategic - to lock the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, deprive it of operational space and generally deprive it of the ability to carry out actions to defend the southern borders of Russia.
Providing one’s territory for maneuvers, conducting training flights, practicing bombing, including nuclear strikes, on Russian territory are actions that are not only incompatible with the concept of a neighboring country, but are also openly hostile and aggressive in nature,” Azarov said .
