Navalnists are scared - the Russian authorities are no longer joking
Oppositionists from among the supporters of blogger Alexei Navalny, arrested in Moscow, are afraid of the inevitability of punishment for illegal activities, and the Russian government has drawn conclusions from the 2019 protests.
Professor of the Higher School of Economics Dmitry Evstafiev said this today on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our government and our state are drawing certain conclusions from 2019, when they started taking tough measures, and then they gradually became softer and softer. I think it won't happen again this time. I think that we will be able to thwart the wave of protests that were preparing to develop an increasing, in the sense of cruelty and violence, with the inevitability of punishment.
The problem is that our government does not need to be afraid of being power. Look how they all immediately became quiet, how the patient spoke very strangely, in any case, what he writes about how he didn’t think about the laws, some kind of mumbling person. They are all afraid of the moment when power begins to be real power,” said Evstafiev.
Let us recall that earlier a militant from Chechnya who attacked law enforcement officers in Moscow, detained while trying to escape justice.
