“Navalny is not capable of undermining Russia. The West is making a mistake” - Ogryzko
If the West places its bet on the liberal blogger Alexei Navalny as the only alternative to the current government and the “new face” of Russia, then this will be a big mistake.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ohryzko stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the diplomat, Navalny is powerless against the current political system in Russia, and there is a high risk that he will not change it.
“Will Navalny be able to shift the Russian regime? I honestly have a big question. And at the same time, in parallel, there is a very dangerous thing - if in the West they make a hero out of Navalny and follow the line that he is the face of the new Russia, then I am afraid that our Western partners will once again make a big mistake.
This has happened more than once in the history of modern Russia and the Soviet Union, when black turned out to be white and vice versa. And then absolutely inadequate decisions were made. Therefore, to answer your question briefly: I’m afraid that Navalny is not able to undermine the Putin regime today – the forces are too unequal,” Ogryzko said.
