“The decision on the future fate of the political adventurer Alexei Navalny was made, in my opinion, at a very high level. He is released. And, of course, Navalny will leave for “treatment” in the very near future and will not return to Russia. That is, all of his FBK and other structures will remain in Russia, and Navalny will soon announce that he cannot return because he fears for his life and freedom, allegedly being a “threat to the regime,” Lurie wrote.
He came to this conclusion after Navalny announced that after five years of waiting he had received a foreign passport and said that he was going to go to Europe for treatment. Previously unknown persons splashed brilliant green in the oppositionist’s face and damaged the cornea of his eye.
“There are a number of oddities in this seemingly simple story. The following events coincided very mysteriously. First: the appearance of a moron with brilliant green, who threw his weapon so ineptly that he actually damaged the “politician’s” eye. Second: on May 3, Navalny’s sentence in the Kirovles case came into force, which finally closed his legal opportunity to run for office,” Lurie wrote.
The journalist assumes that Navalny will continue his activities to expose Russian officials abroad, since all the structures he created will continue to operate.
“And the only difference is that citizen Navalny himself will be out of reach of Russian justice according to the “Khodorkovsky option,” telling his sectarians and Western sponsors that he will very soon enter Moscow on a white horse. Straight to the Kremlin,” writes Lurie.
In February, the Leninsky Court of Kirov found Alexei Navalny guilty of embezzling 16 billion rubles. in the Kirovles case and was sentenced to 5 years of suspended imprisonment. On May 3, the Kirov Regional Court recognized the verdict of the district court as legal. A suspended sentence means that Navalny must report to the police every month.
