The politician’s appearance attracted the attention of journalists, but the police forced Navalny to leave the rally. After this, another oppositionist Dmitry Gudkov took the stage and stated that he refused to speak as a sign of solidarity, although no one was going to give him the floor.
After this, the organizers of the rally decided to name their party affiliation, although before that they introduced themselves simply as deputies of the Moscow City Duma and municipal councils. Elena Rusakova said that she is a member of the Yabloko party, whose leader Grigory Yavlinsky is present in the square as an ordinary citizen.
“We didn’t want to give a party color to our rally, but since everyone has introduced themselves, I will also say which party I represent – the Communist Party of the Russian Federation,” said Elena Shuvalova. Interestingly, she was applauded the loudest.
