“Kazakhstan is known as an effective peacemaker. All neighbors near and far trust us. All these historical events are taking place here. Our country has contributed to reducing tensions around Nagorno-Karabakh, Pakistan and India, Iran and Syria, Russia and Turkey. We want a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. I connect all the time. All wars and conflicts end in peace. And this will end someday,” Nazarbayev said during the XNUMXth session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
Nazarbayev, as president, several times offered to help in the peaceful resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In December 2018, in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel, he expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to seize the eastern lands of Ukraine, which are attributed to him in Kyiv.
