Nazarbayev counts on CSTO help against ISIS
Kazakhstan expects that, in the event of the appearance of ISIS (Daesh) militants in Afghanistan, the Collective Security Treaty Organization will provide assistance to the countries of Central Asia. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about this today in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“On the southern borders of the CSTO, where Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan touch Afghanistan, Daesh militants may appear when they are pushed out of Iraq and Syria. Then the need for collective defense will arise. There may be refugees. This issue also needs to be resolved collectively. The CSTO gives confidence and calm,” Nazarbayev said.
He also stated that Kazakhstan is participating in humanitarian operations in Syria.
“The CSTO will also be involved. Then, God willing, they will help us too,” Nazarbayev said.
