Nazarbayev linked the future of Kazakhstan with the English language
Starting from 2019, four subjects in Kazakhstan will be taught to high school students in English, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
About it reported on the official website of the country's president.
“English will be taught in high schools. Without teaching children English now, we will not be able to fully train personnel in the future. This is a requirement of the time, which parents should treat with understanding. At the same time, we must not forget about studying the Kazakh language,” said the country’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev
The Minister of Education of Kazakhstan, Erlan Sagadiev, said that in 2019 there will be 13 teachers who will be able to teach four disciplines in English.
In February, Nazarbayev approved a new edition of the national alphabet based on the Latin alphabet. According to the document, the transition to the Latin alphabet is planned to be completed by 2025.
In April 2017, Nazarbayev stated that starting from 2018, “it is necessary to train specialists to teach the new alphabet and begin preparing textbooks for secondary schools.”
